|
Mick Box
Michael Frederick Box (born 9 June 1947 in Walthamstow, East London, England), better known by his stage name Mick Box, is the lead guitarist of British rock group Uriah Heep.
He is the only member from the band's founding in 1969 who is still active with the group. A large part of the initial success of the band, his early work stands out on the album Salisbury with complex and powerful wah solos. He currently resides in North London with his wife and son.
When you first meet Mick there's no pretence, no wall of silence that betrays the uncertain artist. He's always the first with the friendly handshake and, well, maybe on your second meeting it's a bear hug. It's a natural friendliness, as natural as his ever present Chesire Cat grin and it spills over into his matey stage character.

Val Halla
Growing up in the middle of Canada, in a city kindly named Regina (rhymes with fun), Val began writing songs at age 5. She left the prairies to pursue music seriously at 17, and moved alone to the "big city" of Vancouver, British Columbia. Over the years Val has played hundreds of shows, both solo, and with various bands including North of Dewdney, Crucial Taunt, KJB Agents, and of course her own creation, Val Halla. She has also been a guest on various TV and Radio programs, performing live solo acoustic renditions of her music.
Now 24, Val splits her time between Regina, Vancouver, and Nashville, honing her skills as a guitar player, songwriter, and performer.
She has sacrificed being with friends and family, to simply get a shot at having her music heard by others, and connecting with fans and strangers alike.
Achievements include engineering and producing Val Halla's self titled 2007 release, gaining an endorsement through Mack Amps, performing various showcases in Los Angeles and Nashville, and gaining new and loyal fans every time she plays!
Val is now pursuing a solo career under the name Val Halla, and will be attending both CMW and SXSW in 2009 to promote her music.

Stan Perkins
Every father is proud when a son or daughter follows in his footsteps. Carl Stanley Perkins, the first-born of the legendary Carl Perkins, has done just that. The profound effect and influence of his father’s music and the way he was raised resonates in Stan Perkins.
Imagine it this way. When Carl penned the classic “Blue Suede Shoes” in the kitchen of a small apartment in a Jackson, Tennessee, housing project, Stan was a baby asleep upstairs. When Carl wrote songs and perfected his unique style of Rockabilly music, which influenced rock and roll artists and musicians around the world, Stan was playing at his father’s feet. House guests in the Perkins’ home were common. Stan often found Roy Orbison visiting and got to hear musical collaborations between his father and Roy before they became multi-million selling record hits around the world. He turned on the television and watched his father as he played with Johnny Cash on his widely popular network television show. He grew up idolizing popular music groups such as The Beatles, only to discover that his father was one of their most profound influences.
Stan played drums behind his dad for over twenty years. He knew every move of his body and every phrase of his delivery—each move and phrase mandated by Carl Perkins’s unique pushy lead guitar style. As Stan carries on his father’s legacy as a solo singer and songwriter, he perfectly executes his father’s unmistakable melodic phrasing with every lyric. Carl Perkins’ rockin’ feel good music is alive and well when Stan Perkins takes to the stage.
“I’m delighted to be part of The Rockabilly Legends project,” Stan says, “not only to pay tribute to Dad and the music he loved and created, but also to honor the other legends—his friends—the people who launched this historic Rock and Roll musical revolution with him.”

|
| |
|
|
|
Jerry Cherry
JERRY CHERRY is proud to be part of the Carparelli family. Jerry named his S4 “Royalty” because that exactly how he feels when it’s slung across his shoulder. Jerry has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, CBS’s The Early Show, and even the hit Lifetime series Matched in Manhattan.
His most recent video, for his single Freakshow, has received wide acclaim and has been featured on Fuse TV. In addition to being the frontman of his own New York-based band, he has been touring the country as the lead guitarist for rock’n’roll legend Chubby Checker (“The Twist”) since early 2008. Jerry was also Chubby Checkers temporary musical director for three month’s.
A singer-songwriter whose insightful lyrics and melodies combine the best elements of rock, blues, folk and rockabilly, Jerry has a signature sound that includes not only his own masterful guitar work, but also a symphonic blend of cello, violin, trumpet and trombone. He is Top 40-meets-indie rock with an emotional depth that lingers long after the last note has been played. He has performed all over the continent, including at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
His debut album, “Life Is Sweeter…”, produced by Jerry himself and mixed by multi-platinum engineer Mike Rogers (John Lennon, Sinead O'Connor, They Might Be Giants), came out in late 2008 to critical acclaim. Find out more about Jerry and his upcoming tour dates, or become an official “Cherry”, at http://www.jerrycherry.com/.

Goddo
Greg Godovitz began his long musical journey back in 1964 first playing the music of the British Invasion. After a stint in various Blues bands Greg found himself playing all original music alongside Eddie Schwartz (Hit Me With Your Best Shot). Next up was Fludd in which the Pilling brothers, Ed and Brian, wrote eight top ten radio hits including Cousin Mary and Turned 21. In 1975 Greg formed Goddo and began a recording career that includes a dozen albums. The songs Sweet Thing, Under My Hat and Pretty Bad Boy would become staples at Classic Rock radio.
In 2001 Greg published his memoirs, Travels With My Amp, that would become a national best seller as well as releasing a DVD of acoustic songs and story telling entitled Up Close and Uncomfortable.
Recently Greg has been living in Calgary and is heavily involved in record production and performing with a wide variety of artists. A feature television documentary, In Goddo We Trust, is now in full production to mark Goddo's 35th anniversary as well as the upcoming release of the entire digitally remastered Goddo CD catalogue.
Greg is pleased to be a member of the Carparelli Guitar family and has this to say about his signature Goddo model. "One of the most beautiful instruments I've ever seen. The fact that it sounds as good as it looks is testament to the quality that goes into the Carparelli products."

Ali Stead
I am a Professional Musician seeking session work and looking for the right people and the right chemistry to put together a band. I am the former lead guitarist for the acclaimed power trio Moeraes Fate. In that band I gained valuable experience touring, performing, writing, and recording.
I play acoustic and electric guitar, focusing on classic rock, blues, hard rock, and folk rock. My main instruments are a Carparelli S4 that was personally modified for me by luthier Mike Carparelli, a Gibson Les Paul Classic, and a PRS Trementi SE. On the acoustic side, I play a gorgeous sounding Takemine six-string. I also sing and play harmonica, keyboard, and piano.
My versatility as a musician and a writer enables me to bring a lot to the table in both live and studio sessions. I am an extremely proficient guitar player with a great passion for music. I am interested in trying many new musical directions. I can work independently or collaboratively, and I have the drive to make things happen and get things done.
In 2009 Dean Markley approached me to not only endorse his strings, but to beta-test his new line of HD Helix strings, and, not long after that, I was approached by Mike Carparelli to endorse his new line of S4 guitars! I am very honoured to represent both these major music companies.
Some of the high points of my career so far include:
• Opening for Styx and Glass Tiger on New Years eve 2009/2010 and later joining Glass Tiger onstage to back up their encore hit "Don't forget me when I'm Gone".
• Recording, releasing, and touring Moeraes Fates all original EP, "Making of the New Me"
• Recording as a session player on Grainne Ryan's soon to be released 3rd album, produced by Moe Berg (Pursuit of Happiness).
• Winning The 2009 Next Cutting Edge Artist contest
• Winning the 2009 YouDiscover Contest
I first picked up the guitar at the age of 12. I totally connected with this instrument, and taught myself to play by ear. At 13 I started gigging at bars, fairs, local events, and parties, singing and playing acoustic. At 14 I began formal training because I knew that studying guitar would enable me to refine my abilities and get where I want to go. At the same time, I began to teach privately and also joined my first band. Continuing my interest in teaching, I worked at my local high school teaching basic note reading and musical theory.
My first big break came in 2008 when, at 16, I became the lead guitarist for Dame, an all female power trio featuring Katee Lee on bass and vocals and Kayla Faye on drums. We changed the name of the band in 2009 to Moeraes Fate because we felt we needed a name that better represented who we were and where we wanted to go.
Discography:
Moeraes Fate - Making of the New Me (6 song EP): lead guitar, rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboard, co-writer.
Grainne Ryan - TBA (produced by Moe Berg): lead guitar on selected tracks
I am playing on two other albums by two different artists--details coming soon!
Our biggest show was in front of 30,000 screaming music fans and partiers on New Years Eve 2009/2010 in Niagara Falls, opening for Glass Tiger and Styx. Afterwards I joined Glass Tiger on stage in front of a crowd that had swelled to 55,000 to back up their encore. The show was broadcast live across the country.
It was a sad day when Moeraes Fate announced that the band was not going to continue due to conflicting family obligations among the members. There was a huge outpouring of shock from our fans on the official Moeraes Fate MySpace and Facebook pages.
I continue to do session work, both on stage and in the studio, and I am looking for a special group of musicians to form a new band!

STREAMLINED
Streamlined was formed in Newmarket, Ontario in 2005. Brothers Jeff and Justin Fulford founded the group shortly after they had returned from an "extended vacation" to their native province of Newfoundland.
The third member, Sean Maclean was a co-worker alongside Jeff at a local music store in Newmarket.
They jumped at the opportunity to
make him a part of the entity that would be Streamlined after a jam session left them believing that he had the punk-rock edge that they had been looking for. With a triumphant rock sound and innovative and timeless music, the members of Streamlined have created a powerful revolution. They have dedicated themselves to the music, constantly progressing, changing, and most importantly, learning.
Streamlined is very proud and honoured to be part of the Carparelli family and the support from Mike and his team have been world class. Rock On!

Pat Kelly
“The top of the line is, there is no other guitar like my Carparelli’s. The tone on both the 6 string and 12 string acoustics are deep, natural and inspiring. As a songwriter, the first strum of the guitar can make or break the flow of the process. Since, getting Suzy (the 6 string) and Baby (the 12-string) I’ve written probably my best songs to date. On stage, I’ll grab my Carparelli S3 electric and it provides the same reaction from the pros I play with. “That’s a beautiful guitar!...#@$ that sounds amazing!”
Carparelli is not just the best guitar company but, I consider them family. Imagine, the president, executive staff and other endorsees showing up at your gigs and even surprise birthday parties. Yeah! I didn’t think so.
Next time you consider spending your hard to come buy funds, invest in authentic quality and become your own star. A dream should not only mean but, be your reality.”

Kathy Taler
With the release of her brand new album "Not Guilty" in the Fall of 2008, Kathy Taler has become the Bad girl on the Canadian Independent music scene. The raspy voiced Rock ‘n Roll singer, who now resides in Toronto has spent four years playing New York City’s best and raunchiest coffee bars and Clubs. Upon first moving in on the American music scene, she performed on various recording projects as a backup vocalist before releasing her first original EP "I Never Bled", which she co-produced. Her unmistakable vocals on the track resulted in the song being picked by Lulu Records for their compilation album called "Women in Williamsburg", which ended up hitting the stores with National Distribution in the United States.
Her travels have inspired a gritty punk rock attitude that shows itself clearly in the music and also in her live performance style. Always one for onstage theatrics and visuals, her shows seem to be on the verge of crashing and bursting into flames but she manages to hold on for dear life and walk away smiling like a bloodied prize fighter who just KO’d the opponent in the 1st round. Audiences are often shocked, and always surprised, but never seem to be able to look away out of fear that they may miss some of the excitement. She is kind of like 105 pounds of “kick your ass…” Not someone whose purse you would want to snatch. And that’s just the theatrics part. The music speaks for itself, and on its own certain terms.
Since relocating to Toronto, Kathy has appeared on CHRY 105.5 and CKRG 89.9, KJAG FM and Bite TV to name a few. Taler’s music might just be the wake up call that the Canadian Music Industry needs right now. With song titles like "Life Stinks" and "Angel of Death" expect to be surprised.

Oliver Piggot
He is all at once a powerful singer, timeless songwriter and magnetic, explosive performer. Standing 6 foot 2 inches with a crop of outrageously wild hair, Oliver´s presence commands your attention. What most people recognize instantly is the kid´s astounding lyrical abilities. As one admirer from Los Angeles explained, ´´It´s almost as if Oliver has spent his young life on a train and seen the world in all its joy, pain, benevolence, cruelty and social injustice.´´ The tunes, too, speak of a world-weary soul, resulting in a wonderful melodic mix of blues, country, folk and rock ´n´ roll. After the passing of his father, a blues harmonica player, Oliver picked up the instrument. He was twelve.
He began to perform in bars along the Algarve in Portugal. Returning to Toronto, Canada, Oliver gathered a passionate legion of fans with his band ´´Laughing Sam´s Dice´´, playing such legendary clubs as The El Mocambo and The Opera House. His following grew ever stronger. Now based in the UK and Canada, a 2008 Canadian Idol finalist (along with his brother Sebastian) and a ubiquitous presence in clubs across both countries, the rest of the world is about to discover what his many admirers already know. In the words of one devoted Pigott concertgoer, ´´Oliver picks up that guitar and steps up to the microphone like he´s coming home. I´ve seen him so many times because he´s twenty feet tall onstage and I can´t look away.´
