A photo of your existing control layout and a few basic measurements are usually all we need to determine compatibility.

Bottom-Mounted Output Jacks

Some semi-hollow guitars have the output jack mounted on the side or lower portion of the body rather than directly on the top.

No problem.

Just let us know before ordering and we can build your harness with a longer output-jack lead so everything reaches properly during installation.

Epiphone Sheraton Owners — Please Read

Some Epiphone Sheraton models have smaller F-hole openings that may not allow a standard full-size CTS potentiometer to pass through.

For these guitars, we can build the harness using CTS mini potentiometers where required.

Please contact us before ordering if you have a Sheraton or another guitar with particularly narrow F-holes.

Professionally Tested Before Shipping

Every Carparelli Guitars wiring harness is tested before it leaves our shop.

We don't simply check it with a meter.

The completed harness is installed into our Template Guitar testing fixture, plugged in, and function-tested to confirm:

• Volume controls operate correctly
• Tone controls operate correctly
• Toggle switch operates correctly
• Output jack connection is solid
• Grounding is correct
• The complete harness functions as intended

Your harness is tested to make sure it is operating 100% before shipment.

F-Hole Installation Requirement

This wiring harness is designed to be installed through the guitar's F-hole.

The widest portion of the F-hole should have an opening of approximately:

1-1/8" minimum

This allows the components to be carefully fed through the F-hole and positioned inside the guitar.

Please measure your guitar before ordering if you are unsure.

Carparelli Template Measurements

Approximate component spacing measured center-to-center:

• Volume to Volume: 2.5"
• Tone to Tone: 2.5"
• Volume to Tone: 2.5"
• Toggle Switch to Neck Volume: 2"
• Toggle Switch to Output Jack: 6.5"

Semi-hollow guitars can vary considerably between manufacturers and model years, so these measurements are provided as a reference.

If your measurements differ slightly, contact us — we may be able to customize the layout to suit your instrument.

Short-Shaft Potentiometers

This harness is supplied with SHORT-SHAFT CTS potentiometers.

Short-shaft pots are commonly used in:

• Gibson ES-series guitars
• Epiphone semi-hollow guitars
• SG-style guitars
• Many other thin-top and hollow/semi-hollow instruments

If you are unsure whether your guitar requires short-shaft or long-shaft pots, please check before ordering or send us a message.

We also offer harnesses equipped with long-shaft potentiometers for guitars that require them.

Important Information for Imported Guitars

Many Asian-made guitars, including some Epiphone models, use smaller metric potentiometer mounting holes.

CTS potentiometers use an approximately 3/8" mounting bushing, so the existing holes may need to be enlarged slightly.

This is normally a very simple modification when done with the correct tapered hand reamer.

A reamer enlarges the hole gradually and cleanly and gives you much more control than trying to force or drill the opening.

If you're unsure what tool to use, send us a message and we'll gladly point you in the right direction.

Installation / Soldering Required

This is a pre-wired harness, but your pickups will still need to be connected to the harness during installation.

This requires some soldering.

If you are not comfortable soldering or installing electronics through the F-holes of a semi-hollow guitar, we recommend having the installation completed by a qualified guitar technician.
